I became interested in kayaking in my teenage years while visiting Drake’s Island (Plymouth). However, living in North London meant my opportunities were limited.

I moved to Devon in 2012 and decided that kayaking would be a good form of exercise. It wasn’t until 2015 that I joined Totnes CC, along with my son Joe. Today we are both on the club committee: myself as Assistant Welfare Officer and Joe as our Junior Members representative.

I enjoy all aspects of kayak and canoe, including white water, open water and sea/surf. My main motivation is seeing people of all different ages and backgrounds progress from complete beginners into confident, competent paddlers. TCC has a good number of Junior paddlers who really embrace the opportunities the club offers. Watching the Juniors progress is amazing.
