I started kayaking in my late 20s, when I joined Exeter Canoe Club. I rapidly found myself very comfortable in a kayak and in moving water. White water kayaking became a passion, almost an obsession, as it was not only fun, adrenaline packed and a great way to keep fit in the outdoors, but also helped me leave behind daily life issues to focus on the present. Most important of all, it has allowed me to embark on countless amazing adventures with incredible people. So far kayaking has taken me to Scotland, Wales, Slovenia and the French Alps. I usually paddle grade 2/3 rivers with the odd grade 4 when I can.

After an amazing first year kayaking, I decided to become a coach to be able to share my love for this sport and try to give back to the club and the community, as kayaking had changed my life. I have coached adult and junior beginners and intermediates as well as special needs. I find coaching incredibly rewarding and great fun.

When there’s no rain and the rivers are dry, you can find me surfing in Devon and Cornwall (my second passion), or diving. Anything water-related floats my boat!

Due to personal circumstances I had to be off my kayak for few years, but now that I have relocated to Plymouth and joined TCC, I am looking forward too many more adventures. You’ll find me coaching on Tuesdays or on any of our amazing local rivers when running.
