River Dart overnight kayak camping expedition to Ashprington

|Boat Shed to Ashprington Point
A self supported (carrying all your own camping kit) expedition, starting from the boat shed, camping overnight at Point field, Ashprington Point, then returning to the boat shed. Suitable for everyone, including juniors if accompanied by an adult on the water.

About the Event
Access to the campsite is from a beach which becomes very muddy at certain points of the tide. To avoid mud the plan is to meet at 11:00, pack kayaks / canoes then paddle with the out going tide to the campsite. (HW 10:00)
You will need to think carefully when deciding what to bring as you will need to transport it in your kayak! Food for lunch and BBQ and breakfast.
There will be opportunity for relaxing, playing games, camp fire during the afternoon and evening.
Facilities are basic. There are compost loos and a water tap, although this water needs boiling before drinking.
Sunset is at 19:30
Return to Totnes on Sunday after breakfast. HW is 10:30 so if you opt for a lazy morning you will have to 'pay' by paddling against the tide on the return journey! We aim to be back at the shed b…
